Letter to Classmates from Nick Iuppa, '60

Ginny and Nick Iuppa, '60

Guys:

Sorry we are not going to be able to make the big reunion. It was on again - off again. If we show up at the last minute you'll know that it's on again. Sorry too to hear about the passing of Mr. Monagan. I still remember making a speech before the first McQuaid - Aquinas Game entitled "let's just win this one for Mr. Monagan." Then he got up and said that he had prepared a speech all about me but he just didn't have the heart to deliver it. Of course the truth is, he had a heart big enough to do anything he wanted.

It's sad not to be able to get back together with Doug Bufano, Tom Shea, Tom Trevette, Neal Gilmartin, Rodge Nauheimer, Fred Richards, Bob Fox, "Louie" DeMarco and the rest of you and remember the days when the most serious thing we could think about was which St Agnes girl we were going to try and bump into at Critics, or how to push our geometry teacher just a little bit farther over then edge.

Anyway, last January I retired after 11 years at Paramount Pictures (that's equal to 35 career years at companies outside of Hollywood). Before that it was 5 years at Apple, 5 at Hewlett Packard, 10 at the Bank of America, 2 at Disney, 2 at MGM. I should be ready to give up ... but I'm not. These days I'm trying to sell scripts to TV sitcoms (supposedly impossible if you are over the age of 35) and help start a new Video on Demand Company in San Francisco. If either one of them pan out (McQuaid will) be getting a check far bigger then the one I'm mailing this morning.

Attached is a photo of Ginny and me celebrating our 40th anniversary in Hawaii. We have a wonderful family: three children, 3 grand children. They're all health and happy. We have been truly blessed.

Have a great reunion.

Nick
